Pedrera chair :
The architect Juan Francisco Barba Corsini (1916-2008) remodeled the loft of the Gaudí's"Casa Mila" between 1953 to 1955, where he created 13 modern apartments to rent and a collection of furniture called "La Pedrera". Highlighted a perforated sheet lamp, a chair with metal frame and a curvilinear bank. The pedrera chair of 1955 (80 units in different colors) had a painted seat made with tablex (wood fibers and resins) an inexpensive material in the 50s. Since 1996 is produced with a polyester seat reinforced with fiberglass. It consists of a light structure of calibrated tube in small section which supports a single piece folded in conical form, which integrates the seat and backrest. In 1996, this space was renovated according to the initial conception of Gaudi and Barba Corsini's work was lost. |
